Cathy is the director of Qualityworks PL, a business dedicated to helping health service executives and quality professionals build and implement simple, powerful quality and governance systems that help fulfil the potential of their organisations to change people’s lives. She is also Adjunct Associate Professor in Health Service Management at La Trobe University, and was an Australian healthcare accreditation surveyor for over 10 years. Cathy is a current member of the Victorian Ministerial Patient Safety Advisory Committee, and is on the Board of a large aged care organisation where she chairs the Quality and Safety Committee. Starting out in healthcare as a Health Information Manager, Cathy soon moved into quality management, and over the past two decades her career has been focused on supporting improvement practitioners, staff and executives to combine their knowledge and creativity to create great consumer experiences, using a strategic quality system model she’s fine-tuned through research and experience. She trains people to implement the model through workshops, online courses and in her books: ‘Create a Great Quality System Blueprint’ and ‘The Strategic Quality Manager Handbook’.
