BioGrid Diabetes Database in Australia: tips and tricks (#36)
BioGrid Australia is a federated data sharing platform which faciliatates clinic and research data linkage for the purposes of clinical audit and research. BioGrid was established in 2003 and now operates in 48 sites across Australia. The BioGrid Diabetes Database was first developed and instituted at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in 2008. It now operates in several Victorian hospitals (St Vincent’s, The Northern and Goulburn Valley Base) and is in the process of being implemented in multiple NADC sites across Australia. The session will provide insights in to the use of the database for clinical service, audit and research activities with a focus on the challenges with its use.
