Dorit Samocha-Bonet is a clinical researcher and group leader at the Garvan Institute of Medical Research, Sydney. She has been a clinical dietician managing patients with the metabolic syndrome before turning to a career in medical research in the field of obesity, pre-diabetes and type 2 diabetes. She obtained a BSc in Nutritional Sciences (Hebrew University, Israel), MSc in Clinical Biochemistry and PhD in Physiology & Pharmacology (both at Tel Aviv University, Israel).
