Alicia Jenkins is a Professor of Diabetes and Vascular Medicine at the NHMRC Clinical Trials Centre and The Faculty of Medicine at The University of Sydney. She provides Type 1 diabetes patient care at St. Vincent’s Health, Melbourne. She is an endocrinologist with clinical and research interests in diabetes and its complications, and the use of technology in diabetes care, including insulin pumps, glucose sensors and telehealth. With over 25 years of research experience she leads clinical and basic science research exploring diabetes and it complications, pre-diabetes, beta cell biology, biomarkers, and trialing interventions. She has over 260 publications and is Chief Editor on the textbook “Lipoproteins in diabetes mellitus”. She was on ADS Council for 8-years, on several editorial boards, and is on the Boards of Insulin For Life and the IFL Life For a Child Program.
